A Used To Be

I've always believed that there are two people. Those that want to help and those that physically do help. But what is help? Is it awareness? Is it an image? Is it getting your hands dirty? How important is it to be a community leader if everything you once had has made you a used to be?

The Escape Artist

The act of writing is a stage or a presentation of thought. When you elect to write. You do so for several unrehearsed reasons. One such place to hide is the letting go of a past you can't change. Rather than dwell on the sorrow turn it into an act of writing. Make it poetry that won't be understood. Not even by you in the moments that make this day...just another...along the way. On a path call me and my shadow.

Weakened Dream Constant Spinning

The destination of your next attempt is where? Or have you stopped yourself from growing forward? People don't get old. They act old. The body shuts down when parts of it are no longer needed. Its no different than moving out of a house that's too large to live in. Why do we stop dreaming? Have you labeled yourself a failure? How can you reignite the engines of success? My books and handwritten expressions

Vibrations

The depth of our perception doesn't qualify anybody for the Olympics. That would mean effort would be spent trying to exceed the limits of your personal journey. We've learned to accept bad service at restaurants. We have bosses that fail in the department of motivation. Kids are doing crack and the parents are right there with them. Yet...you should know. You are never alone.

God's Bad Apple Agenda

Why did you grow up hating snakes? Because the most famous snake of all tempted Adam and Eve? The apple did the damage. Look at today's society and tell me of another famous Apple. Look at how its given us vision as well. How many people have been lead away from God due to its power?

1021 Thoughts: Creativity Isn’t A mood

January 27, 1999: Creativity isn't a mood Lay with your eyes closed visualizing the perfections of every dream. Touch the skin of the self you see—there is no feeling, nor can you impersonate. At that very moment—the imagination starts to grow. The moment you open your eyes, a choice will be made—to paint or to set aside. To exhume the existence or to bury the corpse—assuming you have the tools to make a clean getaway. Pictures start to take shape. If white is ever present—think of it, not as silence—but instead, the next page. Get the book

Verbally Defending Is Nothingness

My neighbor hates my preacher. Does that mean I should hate my neighbor? The top three worst fears in American are unemployment, the economy and the government. Does that mean I should hook up with Virgin Airlines and take the first rocket to space? Having an indifference is what has turned our lives into success stories. What success? You have air in your lungs. That's a brilliant way to start a new day.

Don't Dump Your Issues On Me

Show me a man or woman that doesn't have issues and I will give you a numb society. But there are no rules that state you have the legal right to dump your issues onto the nearest passerby. The best way to avoid being weighted by other people's issues isn't to turn into an old witch barking like a dog at neighbors to stay away. Confront the issue maker with compassion. Then make an agreement.

The Newscaster

I'm not going to put focus on the extremely talented writers, producers and performers of CNN, ABC NBC and CBS. Society couldn't survive without the truer newscaster. The gossip chasers in the neighborhood and at work. Lives change daily. But does the world have to know it? Life isn't supposed to be a green screen. The song featured is Hurts So Bad from Arroe Collins and Alan Grossman. It comes from my collection of songs titled: My Blonde Rock n Roll Roots Read more from Arroe:

It's Snow Not Coke

Snow isn't God's way of forcing you to swerve out and around the intended day. Snow wasn't designed to keep you from keeping on. The center rings of a tree cannot be if the weather on the outside isn't toughened up. Snow teases the imagination of a child and from it new thoughts and brilliant ideas grow. Snow! Is a blizzard white canvas. But hey... winter is a time of letting things pass out and sometimes forever. Before you officially quit. I know a trick.

Meeting The Voice

How many times have you be shaken awake by bad dreams? Words wake me up. Instantly my eyes are opened. They scan the room searching for the person that very clearly shared words, Instead of letting the moment go. I write.

Touch The Wind

The total journey doesn't have to go unwritten. What if you were born to laugh? What if what you're supposed to be hearing is based on something as simple as the wind? Might the storms of the approaching clouds actually be carrying what might become tomorrow already put into pictures? The art of communication isn't always through the words we speak. All too often everything around you is talking. It is you who has chosen to stop listening. So how do you get back to the self you once loved? It begins with touching the wind.

Mindless Photos of Nothingness

What is a photograph? What are the stories being shared? What if a photograph didn't hide inside digital devices? What happens to the photograph when it falls off the wall? The song featured comes from my new book and cd Scrambled Eggs. The song is titled The Photograph

Armchair Quarterbacks Kill Dreams

I wish I could take back all the words I've put down on a single page. I wish I never became a writer. I wish the art of expression had skipped over me. I wish. I wish. I wish. But in the end. It doesn't matter. We were all born to write. The song featured at the end comes from my cd 15 Pieces from a Faceless Beast. The song was inspired by and written about Julia Cameron. The author of The Artist Way. I can't imagine life today without that single day in Santa Barbara where my eyes met her pages. Nothings ever been the same. I've never been blessed with the opportunity to meet Julia. I've talked with Yoko, David Crosby, Tommy Shaw of Styx, Queen and the funniest people on earth. But I've never been given the chance to say, "Thank you to Julia Cameron." If she only knew how many millions of people have been touched via her written word.

Bill Waterman Rebuilding Haiti

California currently conditions aren't the only drought currently depleting fruits and vegetables from the mouths and tables of men women and children. What you aren't reading in the newspaper are the worsening conditions in Haiti. Reach Bill now

Modern Day Medicine Man

When was the last time you looked into the eyes of a passerby and felt compassion for all they have brought to the surface of this modern America? We as a people may not have the knowledge to make the snow and cold go away. But we can work as one to build better shelter.

Accountability Is Dead In America

There used to be a time when being on the radio meant public involvement. There used to be a time when doing great business meant reaching beyond the art of networking. Reshaping a city. Rebuilding a community. Recharging the dreams of a fallen friend or family member is what comes natural. But we've become a nation of takers. The hardest working people in America are the volunteers. They do what they do without pay. Those receiving aren't expected to give back. Yet they keep taking.

Social Networked Silence

Profoundly difficult in 2014 is walking around in a bubble trying to hide from the emotions of all things coming at you. I've yet to meet the man, woman or child that doesn't believe they were born to have a voice. To protest, support, offer insight and or be the first in moving people newer ways. We aren't a nation of great leaders but rather loud voices. Which doesn't bother me. At least you know what they're thinking. It's the silent walker that makes the biggest wave.
