Not My Calling

We hear it everyday! You have answered your calling. Be it a brilliant player of sports, financial planning, a doctor, chef or someone that sweeps the streets. I believe we have this thing called, "The Calling" mixed up with the true story of gratitude.

Destination

Who are you? Are you the you that dreams are made of? Are you who they wanted you to become? Do you have the strength to believe in the self you were given at birth? Have you allowed yourself to sell out? Only to find in later years that everything you wanted to be still has life? Your body has been patiently waiting for the outside shell of the person you became...to look out across the horizon and say, "I want to help paint the next sunset."

The Veins Of A Living Tree

How many times do you toss away chicken scratch? Words unevenly layered into the weaves of a napkin or sheet of paper. Can you count the number of times you've accused God of not talking to you?

Windows Are Your Weakness

My oh my we love to look outside. Those windows are wide open! Yet few of us realize. There's always someone looking in. There's always gonna be someone that wants in. There's a lot you don't know about yourself yet the world sees everything you are through a window.

It saddens me that so many radio station this past weekend broke format and played old American Top 40 shows that featured Casey Kasem. Radio stations that have and continue to fire Broadcasters from their positions of communication. Radio stations that brag of playing the music but fail to share the stories just like Casey Kasem. Radio fails to grip the journey. They'd rather cut and paste. Casey Kasem invited connection. Two dots. The artist and the listener. If Radio wants to pay tribute to one of the greatest storytellers of our time. Don't air the show! Hire Broadcasters! Teach the future of radio how to share stories like Casey. Get the physical act of one on one communication back on the air. Get Program Directors back into the seat of creating a connection with listeners. We can get a song from anywhere anytime. We can't pick up the art of what an on-air talent delivers unless there's a reason to want to listen. The fact that we are here in 2014 isn't the greatest moment inside our well talked about chapters. How we evolved into who we are is based on how God has worked through people. For God's word to work. He realized early...use real people. Use their voices to influence and or inspire. Be real and there will be art.

The Doubting Soul

We wander through office space. Meander within the collection of stores at the mall. Complain about nothing making it all too simple to be something. And yet we leave out the most important voice. The one that didn't bring you to the dance. But they were there when you screamed for the first time. Signaling to your mother and doctor that you were alive.

Is God Protected By Copyright Laws

Kind of weird how everybody seems to feel like they are owed something. When what they hold didn't belong to them. I laugh when preachers get mad at pastors and ministers feel violated when authors borrow from their handwriting. The process of plagiarism is tossed out like candy at a Thanksgiving Day Parade. I laugh. Out loud. A man that stands in front of his congregation claiming that God told me. God said this to me. Can never be plagiarized. God gave them the words. God doesn't play favorite student games. God gives to one. God gives to all.

Is God A Black Belt

A division point. That single most unimportant place. I mean. We are completely set on paths and patterns that we've forgotten that there's always a choice. But elect to take the manly man way out. And or the easiest because who has the time?

I Don't Want To Write Anymore God

I call writing my sickness. I have accused my passion to write my addiction. I don't write because I want to. I write because the power is too overbearing and I have to release it through a writing instrument. But the judgment. Oh the harsh actions of others that fail to understand what has been written. The slaps. The punching. The verbal beatings from those that don't want to see the positive in the flow that comes from God through me and into a readers next decision becomes too tough to handle. So I asked God to take me off his list of writers.

Three Of The One Thousand Twenty One

I didn't set out to write a book that still sits on the new age religion bookshelves. I was embarrassed when the publisher labeled my book religious. How dare you call me a Preacher! And yet in the way that I write. Its anything but heavenly or spiritual words of advise. Ask those that have been to the pages. They'll tell you what "They" pulled from the lyrics of my soul. And what they yanked on. Broke free from the origin of roots was their interpretation. I get in more trouble writing words of positive value than I did breaking the ten commandments. It's just not fair! So every once in a while I step back a few years and share the true story behind the emotion given to me by God. So that others may hopefully learn from it during the day you least expect.

Lesia Cartelli Angel Faces

About the founder: Lesia Cartelli endured a serious burn injury over 50% of her face and body from a natural gas explosion at her grandparents' at the age of nine. The home was completely destroyed yet her spirit survived. Not wasting her pain, Lesia is the founder and director of Angel Faces®, the first and only national nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide healing retreats and aftercare support designed to inspire adolescent girls with severe facial disfigurements to achieve their optimum potential and develop meaningful relationships for themselves, their families and their communities. Angel Faces® You Will Never Forget Their Stories San Diego, CA, June 4, 2014 – For young girls with severe and permanent disfigurement from burns or other traumatic injuries, the cruelty of the world can be almost unbearable. The stares, name-calling, teasing and cruelty of others create a sort of living hell for this special group of survivors. Lesia Cartelli knows this is true, because she lived through it herself. Her desire to heal from a serious burn injury over 50% of her face and body at the age of nine in a natural gas explosion encouraged her to create Angel Faces for girls who suffer similar disfiguring burns and other traumatic injuries. This year, the retreat is in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on June 15-21, 2014. It is the first year that the retreat is on the East Coast. During the multi-day, intensive retreat, survivors hear first-hand from Cartelli about her injuries and the long road to recovery. The young girls work closely with licensed therapists to share and explore ways to facilitate emotional healing and meet others with similar struggles. They learn to use new tools that will help them increase their self-esteem, decrease their depressive symptoms, and have a better quality of life. Most important of all, they are given hope that they can create the life they desire through empowerment. "The retreat is only one small component,” Cartelli explains. "We see the fruits of our labor when the girls go back home. We receive several calls and emails from the parents and medical centers about how confident and content their daughter/patient is since she has returned -- she joined a sports or academic team at school or now is going to prom, or interviewing for a first job, ending their social death.” This year the girls are coming from San Diego, Houston, Galveston, Miami, Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Tennessee, and New York. Angel Faces® is a national not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Encinitas, California, whose mission is to provide healing retreats and ongoing support for adolescent girls and young women with severe and permanent disfigurement from burn/trauma injuries to achieve their optimum potential and develop meaningful relationships for themselves, their families, and their communities. The unique retreats and aftercare programs focus on the healing process within a holistic framework of mind, heart, and spirit. In addition to art therapy and private, corrective-cosmetic sessions, the program provides licensed therapists to help the girls through their loss and trauma issues, and provides the girls with strategies to handle staring and teasing. The goal of Angel Faces® is to offer a physical, spiritual, and emotional transformation so each girl walks away with a new confidence and a hopeful outlook toward the future with the skills to be excited about their life. For more information, please visit the Angel Faces website at www.angelfaces.com.

E Group On I Heart Conflict

Conflict. Why does it have to be such a numb word? I believe the word cons us into believing we can just flick our troubles off our shoulders and move forward. And yet the weight of world keeps shoving your knees deeper into depressions you can't explain.

Family Values First Mountain Man From Duck Dynasty

I can't go to Google and tap in the letters required to send me to a Mountain Man bio. I just have to say. I honestly felt like I just talked to a damn good old friend.

Beyond Materialistic

We can't afford martial items any more. The things that used to purchase happiness. Bosses and coworkers still attack you on the work front. What is HR but a protection device for the business not the employee. Who can you trust? Where can you find hope and faith. You need all three to greet you in the center of discomfort tomorrow as well as today.

Waves Trickles and Rob Schneider

Often accused of being extremely disconnected from the modern world of business success. I still stand straight up knowing bosses and business owners aren't leaders. They rob from the hardest working generation in history. They steal not just the money you deserve but your energy and everything that could and will make you beyond brilliant. Then...in walks actor comedian Rob Schneider. You gotta love radio and how being in the moment turns a pond into a cool place for bugs to hang out.

God Won't Pat Your Back

I still laugh at preachers that claim God talks to them. I want to know which plan at Verizon they got to get the call. Who and what is a God that doesn't text message you? Why should we trust a creator that makes him or herself invisible inside a society that plasters every photo they can get onto Face Book and Twitter?

The Words You Say

If... If we just watched what we said. If we could watch what we say. When you least expect it. It's what we say that gets the best answer.

Its Not WhoYou Know

Taken directly from my difficulty to wake up this morning. I wasn't alarmed by the alarm. But rather wakened by what I was seeing in my dream. Taking the experience and placing it in a modern 2014 society. You begin to see. Maybe it wasn't truly a dream. But a message.

Seasons Are Every Reason

In every season there is a reason why we stop growing. In every reason there is an excuse as to why we can't accomplish success. I've heard it all. And yet I learn more everyday. The art of being human is simply a canvas with nothing painted on it. Because that requires a destination that we want others to do for us.
